Approximately 2.3 million people each year in the United States are raped and/or physically assaulted by a current or former partner. The Hive is dedicated to educating and increasing awareness in the community on sexual assault and intimate partner violence.

Education & Community Awareness

The Hive is dedicated to providing accurate scholarly based information as we educate the community. Therefore we strive to stay abreast of new and upcoming trainings, curriculum, resources, research findings, as well as current events. This information may be disbursed through our presentations, workshops, website, blog, and social media.

Hive Gatherings

In addition,we also offer Hive Gatherings. These sessions are small and intimate in nature and create the perfect atmosphere to discuss often challenging topics that may seem intimidating or overwhelming to discuss in nature. Hive Gatherings are  great for parents, church groups, sororities, fraternities, mentoring programs, and additional community groups to host. As a host you have the opportunity to recieve tools, information, and resources in an intimate safe space to discuss topics such as (healthy dating, sexual violence, relational aggression, pre-marital sex, sexting, dating violence, and more). Sessions are 1.5 hrs. long however you may customize a 3 hr. gathering to combine one of the identified/non-identified topics upon requests. Hive Gatherings are intended for smaller groups recommended up to 15 participants maximum.

Technical Assistance 

Currently, we provide Technical Assistance to the Faith Community through our training, “When Faith Matters Most, Understanding and Responding to Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence”. We also assists in the revision/ development of Sexual Misconduct Policies.

Trainings are also available on the intersections of Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence within the Black/African American Community. This training assists organizations, institutions, and professionals advance their efforts of cultural competency in the field.

The Hive Ambassador program is the perfect opportunity for students/individuals  to influence their communities through advocacy, mentor support, and leadership; As a Hive Ambassador you will receive professional training and strategic support to help you best influence your community directly based upon identified needs.

 Our goal is to establish HIVE Ambassadors all over the world, developing young men and ladies into leaders while creating a major drawdown on Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence.

As a HIVE Ambassador you can serve in the following ways:

  • Peer Educator
  • Volunteer
  • Facilitator
  • Survivor Mentor
  • Raise Awareness by influencing policy and implementing community initiatives
  • Implement Campus Initiatives, Support Circles, and More.
