MEET OUR FOUNDER

ASHLEY THOMAS, MSW

A passionate educator and servant at heart, Ashley Thomas is committed to serving marginalized children, youth, and families. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Washington. Mrs. Thomas’ career has allowed her to work in several capacities including child welfare, education, mental health, sexual risk avoidance, education, and community outreach. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Columbia College, where she teaches a Leadership Course on Violence Against Women. As an active member of her community, Mrs. Thomas is a professional mentor for Columbia College’s C.L.I.M.B. mentor program and serves in ministry at her family’s place of worship International Praise Church of God.

Mrs. Thomas founded The Hive Community Circle in January 2014 to fill a critical need for women who have experienced sexual assault/intimate partner violence to be heard, supported, and empowered to move beyond their pain while discovering hope. She values the voices of survivors and believes that change cannot occur unless they are the catalyst behind the solution. She is committed to partnering with faith-based and community leaders, organizations, educational institutions, parents, and young people to bring about effective change on a national and international level.

Mrs. Thomas is the proud Army Spouse to Major Curtis A. Thomas and mother to three beautiful and charismatic children, Corinne Elizabeth, Caleb Josiah, and Collin Noah Thomas.
